Step 3: Using the readings in step 1 and the OWC model in step 2, select a company on which
you can research the necessary information to answer the following:

Use the below as headers for your answers.
Site any research you pull into your paper beyond what I assigned you to read. Only record
new resources you source.
This is envisioned as a 750-1,000 word (i.e. written text paper (double-spaced Arial 11 pt. font
with one-inch margins on all sides).
Your collective submission MUST read in one voice, consistent grammar, same font, color,
etc.
Every section and question must be answered to have a complete submission.

Part I: Company Overview – You MUST Select a Company that Has Some Degree of a Global
Supply Chain.

State your company and a brief description of what it does.
Outline your company’s Order Winning Criteria (OWC). Specifically:

State your company’s known pre-covid business strategy.
On which factors does your company compete?
If Quality is one of those factors, which Dimensions of Quality specifically do they compete?
Do they ‘make to stock’ or ‘build to order’?

Part II: Supply Chain Overview (Broad Observations Beyond Your Company)

What constraints or bottlenecks have emerged in supply chains? Draw on class and assigned
discussions, readings, videos, etc. regarding supply chain risk and shifts post-pandemic.
What supply chain risks came to fruition over the last two years?
What further risks might companies face as we move closer to a post-pandemic situation?

What measures can the Operations/Supply Chain Management (SCM) functions take to make supply
chains more resilient and prevent/mitigate bottlenecks and disruption? Please consider the time
frame of your ideas (e.g., short-term vs. long-term).

Part III: Your Company Post-Covid – Current Situation, Business Strategy Evolution & Impact

How has your company’s business either accelerated or decelerated at this point in the pandemic?
Speak to the realized impact to date.
Describe your company’s current supply chain situation. Specifically, speak to how it is currently
being impacted (i.e. Does (or did) it have goods stuck on containers? Is it at the mercy of its suppliers
being impacted by these delays? Is it part of the solution to clear the ports? If so, how?)
How aligned is your company’s stated business strategy with the actual business strategy it is
executing upon? Evaluate if what they say they do, aligns with the actions they are taking.

Speak specifically to the alignment and disconnects you see.
Have these alignments or disconnects become more apparent at this point of the pandemic?
Are there ‘outside voices’ that are critical of the company that would indicate misalignment? If
yes, then speak to that. If not, then reference that those voices, albeit critical, don’t suggest
misalignment.
What evidence can you offer to support your observations and point of view?

Part IV: Your Recommendations for Your Company Post-Covid

Note: Provide support to your answers as to why you have made the recommendations you have. What
indicators suggest these are the most urgent items they should be considering?

Put your consultant hat on. Assume your company has paid you to assess their current situation with
the goal to emerge stronger post-covid. It is your job to provide them with your top 3
recommendations you believe they need to consider to better align – or strengthen the current
alignment – between their stated business strategy and actions they are taking to put it into action
(i.e., does what they say they do align with what they are actually doing?)
What recommendations do you have for THEIR Supply Chain Management functions to make their
supply chain more resilient and prevent/mitigate bottlenecks and disruption? Include sourcing
recommendations, if appropriate.

Part V: Reflection on the Course

(Per Person) Please provide your personal reflection on the course of the many topics we’ve covered
and share what you believe has made the biggest impact on you. What lessons learned or insights
gained will you take forward with you?
